➡️ From what age can children do the family canyon ?

The family canyon is accessible from age 7, provided children can swim. It's the most suitable route for a first discovery: no big abseils, a series of natural slides, and a gentle progression that works even for the youngest.

➡️ Do parents need to be sporty to join their kids?

Not at all. The family canyon is designed so that everyone can enjoy it, regardless of fitness level. Adults move at the same pace as the children, with no technical difficulty. It's as much a relaxed water walk as it is an adventure.

➡️ My child is nervous about water — can they still do it ?

Yes, in most cases. The guide adapts the progression to each child. No passage is compulsory, and the natural slides tend to win kids over quickly — many hesitant children end up asking for more. Everything takes place in a reassuring environment with a certified professional.

➡️ What is the difference between the family canyon and the Balme canyon ?

The family canyon is the lower section of the Balme canyon: natural slides only, without the technical abseils. It's ideal for children aged 7 to 11 and adults looking for a gentle introduction. The full Balme canyon (from age 12) also includes 3 abseils, one of which is 25 metres.

➡️ How long does the family canyon outing last ?

Allow between 2 and 2.5 hours. The perfect length for children: long enough to enjoy, without being exhausting. Meeting time is 9:00 am or 12:30 pm — to be confirmed with the guide.

➡️ What is the price for the family canyon ?

€45 per adult, €40 for children under 14. Wetsuit, helmet, harness and descender are all provided. Just bring your swimsuit, a towel and lace-up sports shoes.

➡️ When is the family canyon season ?

The family canyon is accessible from May to September. Unlike the Balme sports canyon which opens in April, the family season starts a little later to ensure the water temperature is comfortable for children.
